Today’s an exciting day for me! As a demonstrator, I get to place my pre-order from the new annual catalog. I over slept though. I meant to be up at 4 a.m. to see what I could order and make my decisions. I think all of the activity of the weekend may have caught up with me. We had a concert on Friday night and arrived home about midnight. I know there was dance in the morning of Saturday but to be honest the rest of the day is a blur. And Sunday was spent working the annual Instrumental Music Association bingo. We arrived by 8 a.m. and by the time clean up was over, it was about 5 p.m. when we got home. It was a HUGE success this year. After ordering this morning, I’m off to the school to take care of last week’s uniforms and get uniforms ready for this week’s concert.
I’ve created today with You’ve Got This.
I just love this flower and thought it worked perfectly for TSOT269.
Here’s my design team card for the challenge.
Blackberry Bliss is one of my favorite purples every.
And I love the way it reacts to watercoloring.
I decided to use the flower from You’ve Got This as the central shape on the sketch.
I’ve used a base of Blackberry Bliss cardstock that has been layered with a piece of Farmers Market designer paper.
I started with a piece of watercolor paper.
After spritzing it with water, I used a wet aquapainter to pick up ink from the lid of the Blackberry Bliss ink pad.
Since the watercolor paper was already wet, the Blackberry ink bled and ran nicely.
I added color leaving a hole in the middle for a little ink from the lid of my Hello Honey ink pad.
Next, I blotted the colored area to keep it from saturating and buckling the paper.
Then I spritzed lower on the watercolor paper and added ink from the lid of the Wild Wasabi ink pad.
All of my color blocks were meant to be in the general area of the design on the stamp.
After blotting the lower portion of the watercolor paper, I used my heat tool to dry the paper — heating from both the top and the bottom of the paper. This also helps to keep the paper flat.
After adhering the watercolor paper panel to the rest of the card, I added my sentiment from Suite Sayings.
It had been stamped on Hello Honey cardstock in Blackberry Bliss ink, cut out with the Project Life Cards and Labels framelits and accented with a strip of Basic Pearls.
