I’ve been at my mom’s for about a week and a half and unable to play along with the Global Design Project. I love their challenges! So before my week got away from me, I checked them out first thing. This afternoon, I came up with my Wood Crate for GDP091. I’m all about coming up with alternate ideas. This challenge allowed me to do that!
Wood Crate for GDP091

The theme this week is wheels for GDP091

This first thing I thought of for the wheels theme
was a little red wagon!
I decided I could make that using the Wood Crate Framelits and Real Red cardstock.

Next, I heat embossed “Special Delivery” from
In the City in white.
Then, I cut small Basic Black swirls with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits for the tires.
I layered the swirls over a 1-1/4″ Circle punch of Whisper White.
For the hubs, I used the 3/4″ Circle Punch to cut Silver Foil Paper.

Next, I made balloons using Happy Birthday Gorgeous and
a star die from the Wood Crate Framelits.
The balloons are double sided.
To keep them in the air, I used a piece of floral wire for one balloon.
Then, I wound a Whisper White Baker’s Twine string around it for the second balloon.
The string for the third balloon didn’t get tangled 😉

I’m loving this for a birthday, summer party or even the 4th of July!
