My friend Tracey’s son is getting married soon. Tracey is very creative and has spent the last year helping the couple select and create lots of special things for the wedding. I can’t wait to see everything!!! I know it will be amazing! From time to time, she has come to me for assistance and we’ve worked through her design needs. I was at her home a couple of weeks ago and she showed me the mailbox she had made for the wedding. It was beautiful! She mentioned that she wanted flowers for the mailbox and I offered to create them (and then thought, “oops! I’ve overstepped — it’s not my wedding.”) Tracey contacted me this week and asked if I’d still be willing to make the flowers. Of course!
While looking for a challenge to participate in, I found GDP019 with a theme of love.
Weddings = Love
So, I decided to add this to the challenge.
Tracey brought her beautifully decorated mailbox over for me to attach the flowers.
Ahhh! I was thinking temporary (in case she didn’t like them) and she said permanent.
Ever worry that you’re going to ruin someone’s work? I sure did!
I made a variety of flowers in Very Vanilla. The color coordinated perfectly with the fabric.
The flowers wrap up the side, across the top and down the opposite side of the mailbox opening.
This is going to be a beautiful place for the guests to leave their gifts that are in envelopes.
Here’s a close up view of the side flowers.
You’ll notice I used a little of the retired Very Vanilla Subtle Stripes Ribbon from the Holiday Catalog. Sorry to use a retired product but it has such wonderful body, I had to use it!
And here’s a close up of the flowers that run along the top of the mailbox.
Let me know what you think of Tracey’s wedding mailbox. I’d love to pass along your comments.
