The mass mailing is stuffed, labeled and ready to go. The email database has been updated. Shoe samples have been ordered. Now that all of my immediate volunteer jobs have been taken care of, I can get some “work” done — that means I’m back to creating.
Today, I’ve played with the new Cutie Pie thinlit die. I love the idea of a cake slice shaped box. But, printing off a template and cutting it by hand had absolutely no appeal.
So as soon as I saw the Cutie Pie thinlits, I knew I had to make them mine.
Aside from this being a time of year with lots of graduation parties, there are also lots of weddings.
Take a look at this box and tell me if you can’t see it on a wedding table.
Starting with Mint Macaron cardstock, I created my box. After adhering the top to the side piece, I stamped all over with an image from Stamp a Bag inked in Mint Macaron. (Love the new tear and tape.) Then, zip, zip, the box was assembled.
Next, I wrapped the box with a piece of Mint Macaron Dotted Lace Trim — so pretty and feminine. The back detail makes me think of the bustle on the back of a wedding dress.
Finally, I added this frilly heart to the top of the box. Using the Sweetheart punch, I cut eight hearts from Filter Paper. After using the Handheld Stapler to connect the hearts, I simply fluffed them and attached them to the box with a couple of glue dots. You can see in the picture how much body the filter paper has.
A simple, elegant wedding favor.
