Hi! Welcome to my blog. While today isn’t hot, it is so much warmer than it has been for a few weeks. And it’s January. What does that mean? It means that we start thinking about summer and girls week at the beach. My Waterfront Beach card for today reflects that. Not wishing time away — just thinking fondly about past weeks and the one to come.

Waterfront is a crazy amazing stamp set!
You may not have paid it much attention in the catalog,
but you need to!!
I used it here to create a simple beach scene.
But, there are so, so, so many possibilities.
–
I’ve used a Crumb Cake base with a layer of Tutti-frutti designer paper.
Over that, I placed a cockeyed layer of Bermuda Bay.
For the focal image, I began my stamping with the water and worked my way up.
To give the water the idea of foaminess, I used the Chalk Marker to scribble on a subtle layer.

Next, I added the sandy shore and a few speckles for texture.
For the sky, I stamped the sun first and then placed a mask over.
To create the sky’s texture, I stamped randomly and made sure to turn the stamp
and at times only partially ink it.
Doing this, you get a variety of shapes in your sky.
After adding the buildings, I used Stampin’ Blends to draw in some sea grass.

To finish, I created a sentiment with the Labeler Alphabet.
Then, I backed the Crumb Cake strip with loops of Linen Thread.
