Yesterday’s techniques class was about watercoloring using the Painted Petals stamp set. One of the things that I love about wtercoloring with stamps is that each outcome is original. There are so many ways to control the water: paint, spritz, before, after, paper type and of course the stamps themselves. It’s always fun to see what happens.
When the Blackberry Bliss was stamped on the watercolor paper, it was kind of dull. The water makes it bloom this gorgeous, pinky, deep purple. I love that you know they are flowers but in this sample they take on an abstract quality.
And this sample has an entirely different look. For this card, we used Shimmery White cardstock. The watercolored part of the image seems to just swirl and flow off the flowers.
If you’d like to see a couple other examples of this technique, put watercolor technique in the search box.
