Counting down another last today. It’s the last ballet class after fourteen years! There may be some dancing to come in college but that will be even more just for fun. I’ll have to find something else to occupy my Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. There are lots of doors closing in the next couple of weeks but there’s a whole new adventure out there just waiting to be found!
Today, I played with Watercolor Wings and the GDP037 color challenge.
The colors for today are Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Island Indigo.
I started with a standard card base in Mint Macaron and a 4″ x 5-1/4″ focal layer in Whisper White cardstock.
The large butterfly from Watercolor Wings was inked in Mint Macaron. Then, the outline image was added in Tip Top Taupe.
A second butterfly was stamped using the same color combination and cut out using the Bold Butterfly Framelits.
Next, I added splatter from Gorgeous Grunge in Island Indigo to both the Whisper White layer and what would become the top butterfly.
Taking a Stamping Sponge and my Tip Top Taupe ink pad, I very lightly sponged out from the bottom butterfly to create a soft shadow.
I rolled a couple Glue Dots and placed them on the back of the butterfly’s body. Then, I took the Gold Metallic Thread and made a loopy bow.
To attach the butterfly to the focal layer, I used dimensionals on each wing section.
