I have a craft show coming up this weekend. I enjoy setting up at shows. It’s a chance to chat with lots of people who stop at my booth. If you create things, you know how I feel. There’s just something nice about being able to share your creations with others.
A couple of weeks ago, I had a request for this show. “Please bring ‘Husband Survival Kits'” Well, I began to work on those and thought that maybe there are a few wives or girlfriends that might like a kit of their own. The cards were finished and then it was time to create the packaging.
Here are some of my kits:
I’ve created both masculine and feminine packaging. On the left is one of the kits for the guys. It is Midnight Muse (I’m going to miss that blue when it retires this Spring) with a panel embossed with the Alphabet Press folder. It’s tied with a combination of Midnight Muse 3/8″ Stitched Satin ribbon and Gold Baker’s Twine.
In the back, center, is a box made from Crisp Cantaloup. It’s sporting a two-tone rose. You can see a video tutorial here. I rumpled a Tea Lace Doily and added it to my box. Then I draped a coil of Gold Sequin Trim across the box. I love the fluid look. It’s tied with a bit of Crisp Cantaloup Trim I had left.
The last box on the right, front is made from Soft Sky. I’ve been pulling this out a lot lately. I accented it with images from Gorgeous Grunge that were embossed with Silver embossing powder. Using the Petite Petals stamp set, I stamped flowers in Summer Starfruit, Blushing Bride and Wisteria Wonder. Then I used the Petite Petals punch to punch the stamped flowers and some out of unstamped cardstock. All of the flowers were shaped with my Bone Folder prior to adhering them to the box. After tying the box with some Silver Baker’s Twine, some additional loops of Baker’s Twine were added and then shredded. The final detail is a scattering of Basic Rhinestones.
Now, I just need to prepare a few Easter things and I’ll be ready for Saturday.
Create something today,
Hi- Do you have measurements/scoring to make these boxes? Thanks so much! Kay Capps
Kay ~ If the light cooperates with me today/tomorrow, I will post a video by Friday to show how I do this. Thanks for asking.
