Grrr!! I get up early most mornings so that I can catch up on all of my digital world stuff while I have my first cup of coffee and before the rest of the house wakes up. This morning when I got up, my computer was in the process of updating. Fine. Good even. But, six hours later it was still updating. Once the updates were finished, my computer began to crash! Apparently other things needed to update due to the update. So here I am at 2:00 pm, finally able to start my blog post. This is a day I’m very thankful for smartphones. While I can’t do everything on my smartphone, it has allowed me to get a few things done today besides wait. I think I need a little more work on that patience virtue.
I combined two sketches today; or more correctly a sketch and a theme challenge. Using Tin of Cards and Mojo428 and SIP27, I created this card.
I’ve been creating so often with the my stash from the Holiday Catalog that I decided I needed to show some love to some neglected things.
This card uses a base of Pacific Point followed by a layer of Whisper White. Over the Whisper White are added strips of complimentary designs from the Schoolhouse designer paper pack.
The top of the Whisper White layer has been stamped with the ink splotch image from Gorgeous Grunge. I’ve used both Pool Party and Pacific Point inks.
I layered the Whisper White tag with Pacific Point and shaped the top of both pieces with the Ornate Tag Topped punch.
After stamping “Thanks” from Tin of Cards in Pacific Point, I embellished one corner of the tag.
Starting with a 1 1/4″ circle of Pacific Point, I added a 1″ circle of Schoolhouse designer paper. To the back of this piece, I added a Silver Metallic Thread bow and adhered it to the tag with a dimensional.
Finally, I used a piece of White Glitter ribbon to finish the tag. Using a Pacific Point Stampin’ Write marker, I colored the selvage. The added color on the ribbon ties it in and makes it pop a little. Where I’ve twisted the ribbon so that you see only the sparkly side up, I used the handheld stapler. It added just another small detail.
This made for a fun, bright “thank you” that will be good any time of year.
