Once a month, I offer a Fast and Fabulous class. We all need that from time to time whether we’re new at paper crafting or seasoned.
Prepping for this class fit perfectly with my past week and is a great example of how these can fit into our creative repertoire. My daughter was in the pit orchestra at school and last week was the final week before the show; or in this case shows. There was lots of running back and forth between drop off, pick up and meals. You know how it is — many of us spend our weekdays this way. It can lead to the thinking that we don’t have time to do anything creative and that’s where this style of card comes in.
I love the layers, tools, stamps, etc. that I often use. But, sometimes life is geared more for “less is more”.
Here’s an example of one card we will make this evening.
We will start with a Soft Suede base and then add a square of Pear Pizzazz. Over that, we will layer one of the Retro Fresh Journaling Cards from page 19 of the Occasions catalog. Did you know that while all of the cards have a picture/message on one side that the reverse has a simple all-over design? I wrapped Gold Bakers Twine around the journaling card and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to hold it in place. Then using the Small Oval to punch a piece of Old Olive and my paper snips to create a point, I made my leaf. The flowers are from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack. I finished with a Stampin’ Dimensional under one and a Basic Pearl.
Pretty, super simple card that totally fits the bill when you don’t have a lot of time to meet your creative need.
