I had a blast last night. Gary brought his friend Shannon to my class on Spinners. You can take a look at what we made in yesterday’s post. When we were through, we were chatting, looking through the catalog and reviewing some “how to’s” for some previously purchased products. Honestly, these are some of the best things about what I do.
Well, as we chatted and looked at the Simply Scored Borders Plate – BAM!! – there were some fab ideas flying. But first, I have to bring you up to date on new products and specials.
First we have the Weekly Deals:
This week’s deals are good May 20 – 26, 2014 while supplies last. You can find most of the ribbon on the Retirement List, just an extra incentive to pick up some of this lovely ribbon. And, the digital downloads are wonderful. I’ll definitely be picking up the International Bazaar Photobook. You should check it out and see just what’s included! Click on the photo below to be taken to my store for product details and purchasing.
Next are this week’s new digital downloads. Whether you create traditionally or digitally or both (my preference), these downloads will come in handy.
Click on the photo below to be taken to my store where you can get additional details, close ups of each digital product and purchase these for your new or existing collection.
I’m going to call the next two Awesome 1 and Awesome 2. I’m quite excited about both of these new offers.
So here’s Awesome 1! You can now purchase Paper Pumpkin kits as subscriptions. You can add them to your regular product orders online, at a workshop, in my clubs. You can use them yourself, add them to your existing monthly subscription or give them as gifts. Awesome right? You can even earn Hostess Rewards when buying a subscription. And, you no longer have to wait to get the cool things in your first month’s kit. Awesome!!

Awesome 2…
Is the new Undefined Refill Kit. There are soooo many things you can make with this kit. I am constantly amazed a what people have come up with. If you haven’t played with this product yet, you should.
What’s new about this today? There’s a new refill kit that contains a 3 pack of carving rubber.
This new kit is #137123 As I’m posting this, there is no picture in my store, so be sure to put use the item number in your basket.
Now back to those ideas from last night.
There were so many great ideas for Spinner Cards when we were looking at the Simply Scored Borders Plate.
This is probably one of my most under utilized tools. I’m so glad that Gary brought his last night with questions. Because this product spurred the thought process about creating a wider variety of spinner cards.
To create my track for today’s spinner, I used the wider pair of wavy lines.
Using the Simply Scored Borders Plate, I scored the wavy lines on both Pacific Point and Crumb Cake cardstock and then cut along the score lines. I had enough wavy pieces to add layers to my sand and waves. The sand was stamped with Gorgeous Grunge and the edges were tinted with a dauber and Crumb Cake ink. Pulling out my White Gel pen, I inked small whitecaps along some of the waves.
The waves and sand were added at an angle up the card so that the crab moves down and across as he spins. The crab is from By The Seashore and is inked in Real Red. The angle and the wavy track make for a fun spin.
Next time, I think I’ll use even more of an angle. I’m already eying up a couple other scoring tracks for future use.
Thanks Gary and Shannon for a fun evening. So glad you requested this class.
Don’t forget we’re in the last 10 days for the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog and only 11 days left for the Occasions Catalog. Catalogs can be viewed from the top menu bar as can the Retirement Lists.
See you tomorrow! Now…
Create something today.
WOW!! You are quick! How awesome did that new spinner card come out. I love it!! Looks so much fun, I want to try making that one! It’s a great card for a summer birthday or a beach party invite! Thanks so much!
Shannon
Shannon ~ Thanks!! So glad you like it. I agree — good for almost all of our summer occasions. I couldn’t wait to get started on it this morning. Let me know how yours turns out or if you’d like assistance.
