Good morning! Today the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday design team is having a blog hop rather than posting our creations to the TSOT blog. So be sure to check out all of today’s creations!
We all started with this sketch, TSOT295.
And, we’re all working with a holiday theme.
The first thing that came to mind for me as we moved from October to November was Thanksgiving. So, I created a clean and simple card for the occasion.
I used a Very Vanilla card base and layered it with a piece of Halloween Night designer paper. There are lots of designs in this pack that extend well past Halloween!
Using a sentiment from Sheltering Tree and Early Espresso ink, I stamped my “thankful for you” in the lower right.
My focal layer is another piece of Very Vanilla.
I stamped the pumpkin from Jar of Haunts in Pumpkin Pie ink. Then I used a Blender Pen and ink from the lid to color the pumpkin. Once it was colored to my satisfaction, I stamped the pumpkin again – but with Tangerine Tango this time.
For the stem and vine, I used my Garden Green and Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Markers. After stamping this piece, I again used my Blender Pen but this time swiped it across the markers to pick up color. This allowed me to color in but have some tonal variation.
Next, I used my Gold Wink of Stella. After squeezing it to get it really juicy, I flicked on some shimmery gold splatter.
Finally, I tied on a piece of 1/4″ Gold Natural Trim and tucked in pieces of Gold Sequin Trim and Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim.
Thanks for stopping by to see my Thankful Jar of Haunts Thanksgiving card.

Very nice card!
Thanks Anna.
I love fall cards! They really are my favorite. I really like the way you incorporated the sequin strand. Great work!
Thank Leigh! Fall is kind of like Spring with all of its lovely colors.
I am still enjoying fall, this is a very sweet card. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Pam! We’re still fully in the throes of Fall here too. I’m loving how long the color has lasted!
Very nice card! Love the pumpkin stamp! TFS,
Carole
Thank you Carole — it is a sweet pumpkin stamp. I had totally overlooked it for Halloween.
I love your pumpkin card. I’m going to put the idea away for next year as our Thanksgiving in Canada was the second week of October… I really do like the way you added the sequins and lace to the ribbon bow, as well – something I’ve never seen (or at least noticed) but will be trying soon. Thank you!
Thanks Lori! I love having ideas tucked away for the following year. What kinds of things are traditional for Canadian Thanksgiving?
Hi Sara, What a darling card! I love the way you have colored and stamped this sweet pumpkin. I also LOVE how you tucked just a little piece of the sequin ribbon in the knot – great creativity!! Such a fun card!
Hugs, Sarah T
Thank you Sarah! So glad you enjoyed my clean and simple card.
I love your pumpkin – very pretty! I really like all the details you added (the ribbon with sequins and the spatter). 🙂
Thank you DeAnn!
