I enjoy playing a couple of challenges most weeks as it gets me to use my tools and supplies a little differently than I might otherwise. When I originally looked at the challenge that was the basis for today’s creation with Talented Trio, I thought I’d never come up with anything. I let it roll around in the attic for a while until inspiration hit. It can be like that for me — one thing perking while I’m creating something or working on something else.
Here’s how I combined Talented Trio with PP266
The girls in Talented Trio are soo cute! I decided the skater was perfect for the challenge and the coming season. I had to use Cucumber Crush, Real Red and Crushed Curry. That was a bit of a head scratcher for me initially.
I used the Thick Whisper White cardstock for the base and added a layer of Cucumber Crush. The Whisper White focal layer was cut to leave just a smidgen of Cucumber Crush border.
I stamped my ice skater in Smoky Slate so as to leave a very light outline.
Then using my ink pads and Blender Pens, I colored her in being sure to leave lighter bits of color to create texture and shadowing.
After she was colored to my satisfaction, I pulled out my Two Way Glue Pen and drew a shadow and two trails with glue. Before it dried, I sprinkled on Dazzling Diamonds. I think it gives the illusion of ice.
And I’m not sure if you can see them, but there’s a sprinkling of clear Metallics sequins that add more subtle shimmer.
