Birthdays and graduations are right around the corner! I was thinking about that as I was coming up with my “what to make” for today. This time of year, I like to have some cute gift card holders on hand. You never know when you’ll be invited to a celebration! And having the gift card holders ready to go means that if need be, I can stop on the way to the party to pick up the “gift” since the packaging is all ready. That can be a huge plus in our busy schedules. Let’s take a look at my Sweet Cupcake for TGIFC104 gift card holder!
I like to make the gift card holders kind of fun!
So when I saw the TGIFC104 challenge
using Polka Dots, I knew just what I wanted to do.
I pulled out the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits
and my favorite Pop of Pink designer paper
to make an envelope.
Sweet Cupcake for TGIFC104
After the bag was assembled using Tear and Tape,
I cut a piece of Berry Burst cardstock ( 144243 sneak peek)
with one of the tag dies included with the
Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.
Then, I stamped it in Berry Burst ink (144083 sneak peek) with
the sprinkles image from Sweet Cupcake — more dots for the theme.
The cupcake bottom was stamped in Archival Basic Gray
and the top was stamped in Berry Burst.
Then, the pieces were cut with the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits.
To get the texture on the icing, I did two things.
First, my ink pad was juicy so instead of tapping the ink on I dragged the stamp across
the ink pad — you can see the streaks that created.
Then, I came back in with the Fine Tip Glue Pen and added glue to
all of the white spaces before sprinkling them with
Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.
I cut four of the “wish” in Basic Black with a die from the Cupcake Cutouts.
They were adhered to each other with Fine Tip Glue and then coated
on the top with more Fine Tip Glue.
It gives the word a lacquered look.
Inside, I added a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock.
Attached to it is a strip of Pop of Pink designer paper
with a layer of Pop of Pink washi.
A gift card slides right under the strip.
The Gold Binder Clip on the end is decorated
with a tassel made from Black Baker’s Twine.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Sweet Cupcake gift card holder.
