I think it’s time for me to do some more volunteering! I always enjoy it. In fact, volunteering has been a staple of my adult life. But in this case, I think I’m in need of replenishing my “clean living credits”. I’ve been using too many lately with my car. It’s my “Sara Silver Lining” way of saying things could have definitely been worse. On my way home across the state Tuesday, it was raining and my driver’s side wiper stopped working. The remaining part of the drive was interesting 🙂 I was soo glad to get home and even happy to spend yesterday afternoon at the garage. Soon I’ll have a car with all new parts. That’s kind of like having a new car – right? Anyway, let’s take a look at my Sweet Cupcake – clean and simple card.

Sweet Cupcake – Clean and Simple
My creation today uses the Sweet Cupcake stamp set
This clean and simple card uses a fun color combination of Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach and Pool Party.
The base is Watermelon Wonder.
On the Whisper White layer, I stamped the more solid splat from Gorgeous Grunge in Peekabook Peach and the fine splatter was inked with Watermelon Wonder.
The cupcake wrapper is a triple step stamp. All layers were inked with Watermelon Wonder and were stamped on Whisper White. However, I changed up the stamp order. Layers 2 and 3 were stamped. Then after letting them dry, I stamped layer 1. I found the lines in layer 1 show up better this way.
For the cupcake’s top, I used Pool Party on Whisper White. I chose to only use the layer 1 and 2 stamps from Sweet Cupcake since I wanted some white showing through.
The cupcake liner and frosting were both cut out using the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits.
To finish the frosting, I used Sprinkles Embellishments. They were a cinch to adhere using the Fine Tip Glue Pen. You’ll find a few more pieces of these embellishment sprinkled around the base of the cupcake.
The sentiment is also from Sweet Cucpcake. I’ve masked it though so that the word “and” is missing. Then, I snipped one end into a banner.
Since I wanted both the cupcake liner and the frosting to be raised on Dimensionals, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals on the liner and Foam Adhesive Strips for the frosting. The Adhesive Strips are a bit thicker than the Dimensionals so, they’re perfect for layering over lapping pieces.
