If you’ve been reading my blog this week, you know that I received my first Paper Pumpkin Kit. And, I’ve shared with you a video of the contents and a few creations. My purpose all week and including today is not to show you exactly what you could make if you followed the directions in the kit. I want to show you some additional things you could make with the kit contents. So this week it’s #stampingsunday with June 2014 Paper Pumpkin.
#stampingsunday with June 2014 Paper Pumpkin
I love the designer papers in the kit. In fact, I’m loving the pinwheels. So today, I took a riff on the pinwheels.
I created a banner by combining the pinwheels from June’s Paper Pumpkin kit and the chalkboard pieces from the Chalkboard Banner Simply Created Kit. First, I ran the jute twine through the pieces along with a piece of Real Red 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon. To write the “4th”, I used chalk on the banner pieces (chalk comes in the simply created kit). Yes! the chalk erases so that the banner pieces can be used again.
Pinwheels
Then I made several pinwheels from my Paper Pumpkin Kit to use as accents on the banner
These pinwheels go together in seconds as they are already cut to size and punched as necessary.
I decided to add a little something to my pinwheels so I could bring in a bit more red. To do this, I punched 4 circles of Filter Paper and spritzed them with a mixture of Real Red ink refill and alcohol. After the circles had dried, they were cut with the Fringe Scissors. Using the Paper Piercer, I made a hole in the center of the stacked circles so that I could insert a jumbo brad from the Paper Pumpkin Kit. Then, I coated the top of the jumbo brad in Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details and once it was dry, I rumpled the Filter Paper circles.
This was an easy way to pump up the pinwheels.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my #stampingsunday creation.
