Thank goodness for Starbucks. I had my post all but sent into the internet early this morning and the wifi in my hotel went down. I’ve just come back from my day of play and made a bee line to Starbucks and now I can share with you today.
My thought this week was that there is a carryover list with Christmas stamp sets and cutting tools that will soon retire for good. And, I wanted to share something from the list before then. Christmas in July is a popular concept with many crafters as this is when production of Christmas cards and holiday gifts begins in order to have time to make all of the desired items.
Instead of a card, I’ve created a small mixed media for #stampingsunday.
I love the size of these canvases. They’re perfect for creating a quick piece! And, these pieces of decor easily fit into to any spot available.
I’ve used Festive Flurry and the coordinating framelits to create my snowflakes. Then topped them with Vintage Faceted Buttons and a little Silver Glimmer paper. Festive Flurry is on the carry over list which can be found in the menu bar under Catalogs.
Now, let’s move to the bottom and work up. The canvas was painted with a combination of acrylic paint and ink refill. Over that, I added one of the pinwheel designer papers from the June Paper Pumpkin kit. Then a light coat of the acrylic paint mixture was applied over the designer paper. After it dried, I added Dazzling Details and spread it randomly across the surface for a little shimmer. You can’t really see that in the photo but it’s a nice effect in real life.
Next, embellish with half a Tea Lace Doily in the lower right and three Basic Pearls in the upper left. Place your silver embossed snowflakes from Festive Flurry and you’re done.
Thanks for stopping by to check out #stampingsunday.
