Hi! Welcome to my blog. I’m Sara Levin aka the artful inker. I’ve had the best time creating for today’s Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Sea of Textures! I had two realizations while I was creating; the first about half way through — I wasn’t creating what I thought I was going to and second — I had just made the perfect card to tuck into my daughter’s suitcase. She can find it when she unpacks and begins her summer adventure — an internship in Shanghai. Let’s take a look at what I have for you. Then, be sure to take the tour and see what the rest of the design team have created.
Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Sea of Textures Card
For my creations, I had a little fun with color.
The combo is: Mossy Meadow, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, and Pear Pizzazz
with just a pop of Mango Melody.
At the bottom of the card, I used one of the texture stamps from Sea of Textures.
I inked in Pear Pizzazz and stamped off first.
Then, I stamped the second and third generation onto the Whisper White layer.
Next, I stamped the small and large coral in Coastal Cabana.
For the coral, I used the Stamparatus since I knew I wanted to stamp each
image twice to get a darker tone.
Using the Big shot and Under the Sea Framelits, I cut
coral, seaweed and a starfish.
For the octopus, I also used the Stamparatus.
First, I used a Stampin’ Spot that I had inked with Bermuda Bay.
Using the spot made it really easy to control where I inked the octopus.
Then, I used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to color the suckers.
After cutting him out, I added some Dimensionals and wove him
through the seaweed and coral.
To finish the outside, I used the Stamparatus to
stamp the sentiment right at the top left edge.
This sentiment is perfect for my daughter!
But, it’s also perfect for graduation, a new job, a move…
Inside, I used the texture stamp again.
Then, I added a trio of coral to finish.

Treasure Chest Favor
For my second creation, I made a treasure chest.
I decided to continue my fun with color.
So my treasure chest is algae covered 😉
After adding a Gray Granite net,
I attached my brightly colored octopus.
This time, I added some Coastal Cabana around his suckers.
And on the side of the box, I’ve added a starfish and coral.
It’s been in the ocean for a while 😉
