Hi! Welcome to my blog. I’m Sara Levin the artful inker. And today, I’m sharing creations with Calligraphy Essential for the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Favorite Retiring. It’s been one of my favorite sentiment sets and now it’s time bid farewell.

- beginner/simple stamping: quick, easy projects needing limited supplies; clean and simple cards;
- casual stamping: takes a little more time, uses some tools, more embellishments, creations for an occasion;
- avid stamping: more time, techniques, tools, whatever it is, I want to do it!
Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Favorite Retiring
Beginner Card

Do you ever have so much fun with a technique or stamp set
that you just can’t put it down?
That’s been me with the Sponge Brayer this week!
It makes perfect no layer cards with a good sentiment set.
One of my favorites is Calligraphy Essentials (retiring).
HERE’s a video for the brayer technique.

Use your brayer to ink the Whisper White panel with
Soft Sea Foam and Mint Macaron.
Stamp the sentiment in Basic Gray.
To go from no layer to layers:
add a Basic Gray mat 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
Mint Macaron card base 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″

Casual Card

For this card, stamp images from Oh So Eclectic in Versamark one at a time.
Heat emboss in white.
Then mask and add the next image.
Use your brayer to add
Rococo Rose, Melon Mambo and Lovely Lipstick.
Stamp the sentiment from Calligraphy Essentials in Memento.

To go from no layer to layers,
add a Whisper White mat 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
and a Lovely Lipstick base 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.
Finish with sequins from Metallics Sequins Assortment (retiring).

Avid Card

For this no layer card,
use your brayer to add
Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Mango Melody ink.
Stamp elements from Balloon Celebration in Versamark
and heat emboss in gold.
Then, emboss the sentiment from Calligraphy Essentials.

To step it up,
cut the brayered panel with the largest Stitched Rectangle die.
Layer with a strip of Gold Glimmer Paper
on a Basic Black base.

Finish with sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment.
Calligraphy Essentials is perfect by itself
or paired with any number of other stamp sets!

These are lovely Sara! I hadn’t given this set a second look…until now.
Thanks, Ashley! Glad to “make you look”.
Sara, all your cards are fantastic! Love the idea of stepping up a single layer card for each one, and the layered backgrounds are gorgeous!
Thanks, Tami! I was working with the “sometimes it’s just the little things” design plan 😉
What a wonderful bunch of cards Sara … I LOVE brayering! As you will see from my Avid card, so I totally love your cards. xx
Thanks, Cheryll! Brayering is so easy and addictive.
