Hi! Welcome to my blog. I’m Sara Levin theartfulinker an independent demonstrator in the US. Today, I’m extra excited to share with you!! It won’t be long until the new Stampin’ Up! 2021 Annual Catalog is live on May 4. So, get ready! The Stamping Sunday Blog Hop is ready with some sneak peek inspiration. I’m sharing three Hand-Penned Petals cards and a video.

- beginner/simple stamping: quick, easy projects needing limited supplies; clean and simple cards;
- casual stamping: takes a little more time, uses some tools, more embellishments, creations for an occasion;
- avid stamping: more time, techniques, tools, whatever it is, I want to do it!
Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Annual Catalog 2021 Sneak Peek
Hand-Penned Petals Simple Stamping Card

For simple stamping cards, I love to start with the Basic White Note Cards and Envelopes. They’re a great size — not a lot of real estate to design so I can’t get carried away – LOL! And they look great with minimal design!
I used Hand-Penned Petals and the coordinating Hand-Penned Designer Paper.
Then, I stamped in the tight tone range with Just Jade, Coastal Cabana and Mint Macaron using this two step stamp set. It’s quite easy to use!
To finish the card, I used one of the Genial Gems.
Hand-Penned Petals Casual Stamping Card

For this second Hand-Penned Petals card, I stepped it up a bit and used the whole Hand-Penned Suite. In the suite you’ll find the Hand-Penned Petals Bundle (stamp set and coordinating Penned Flowers Dies; Hand-Penned Designer Paper and Genial Gems.
The designer paper is just gorgeous! If you’d like a close up view of both the A and B sides of the designer paper check out this video.

After stamping and die cutting the central floral, I layered it over Vellum cut with the Scalloped Contours Dies.
Next, I added Hand-Penned Designer Paper and stitched scallop cut with the Penned Flowers Dies.
Then, I added Pale Papaya In Color Ribbon before adding the floral layer, some white Baker’s Twine and Genial Gems.
Hand-Penned Petals Avid Card

And for this last card, I stepped it up again by adding layers, a technique and a fussier (yet easy) bow.

I’m going to tell you right now (and probably again sometime), I absolutely love the Scalloped Contours Dies!!
Using the dies, I cut my base layer from Misty Moonlight and the stitched scallop layer for the focal image.
Instead of stamping the flower centers, I used a Water Painter for a quick wash of color to fill in the details. The watercolor gives a different look thank the stamping does.

The colors in the Hand-Penned Designer Paper are great to work with. There are so many possible color combos!
Finishing touches for the card are a double faux bow with twine accent and clear epoxy dots from the Silver and Clear Epoxy Essentials.
