Spritz and Glitz

There are only 17 more days until Spring.  But, there’s nothing outside that would even hint that Spring is on the way.  I have to say that we thought with February over, we would be done with snow days.  Not…so…fast!  We started with a 2 hour delay today and ended up with a cancellation.  Thank goodness they allowed the kids to come in for a short time this afternoon and rehearse the play.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about academics first.  But, the play opens in two days and the school day will be made up when it gets warmer. Yesterday rehearsal was cancelled due to the weather.   And tomorrow, let’s just say — more snow.

Plays are H-U-G-E in this area!  There’s even an awards show — the Freddies.  For three months, there’s wonderful musical theater put on by area high schools.  If you live around here and haven’t taken advantage of the great offerings, check out the link and be sure to get tickets to a show or two before they all sell out.

So what did I create with Winter/Spring and theater in mind?  Glad you asked.

A little glitz, a little spritz and a pretty glamorous looking butterfly.

The color combination says Winter but the butterfly says Spring.

I used my Stampin’ Spritzers on the Irresistibly Yours designer paper (free during Sale-a-Bration with a qualifying order).  I started with Soft Sky and let that dry.  Then I added Pool Party to about 2/3 of the layer.  After the first spritzing of Pool Party dried, I added another spritz or two in the lower right hand third of the layer.  I did use my heat tool to speed drying, though that isn’t necessary.

And the Glimmer Paper butterfly?  Well, I used a looser sandwich so that the outside of the butterfly cut all the way through but the detail did not.  Love the sparkle!
