We had a lovely day yesterday. We started it by having brunch at the House of Blues. On Sunday’s, there is a Gospel group that sings you through your meal. They and the food were wonderful. We hated to get up and leave. After a small bit of shopping, we headed back to our residence for the week. It was time for some beach. My sister and I spent at least an hour chatting and enjoy the gentle waves. I was quite the prune when I emerged from the ocean. Nothing short of relaxing.
Now on to something for you. When I first saw the Calling All Heroes stamp set, I knew it was a must have. There are the obvious things to do with it – create super heroes, and then there are the other possibilities. There are some great elements in this set. Think ahead to Halloween. But, I’ve gone a different direction today.
I created a masculine card using the cityscape. My background row of buildings was stamped off in Basic Gray. The buildings in the foreground were also inked in Basic Gray. Between the two different tones of the buildings and cutting around those at the front, dimension was created. You definitely get a background and foreground.
Now, I didn’t worry about getting even ink coverage and smooth stamping. This approach created some great texture on the buildings.
After offsetting the front buildings and adhering them only at the bottom (I wanted the tops to stand out from the card), I added a strip of Smoky Slate Chevron Ribbon and a Cherry Cobbler Candy Dot.
Don’t miss out on Calling All Heroes as this set is available only while supplies last.
