I had a FABULOUS time yesterday — and well Friday evening as well!! I was over in Seacaucus for OnStage, an event for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. Last week I had posted about gathering a group for dinner and was invited to join a group that had already formed. So, one of my downline and I joined a group of 11 strangers for dinner — and we had a blast!! When you’re with Stampin’ Up! people — no one is a stranger. When dinner was over part of the group was ready to call it a night but a few of us found a seating area with a fire pit and chatted for a bit more before heading our separate ways. That was my inspiration for my Sheltering Tree – Fall card.

Sheltering Tree – Fall
Yesterday, another downline joined in the fun as we attended OnStage together. I can’t begin to tell you how excited we all are about the new products we’ll have available in January. We were able to play with some, see a lot of it and enjoy demonstrations as well as all of the networking. Did I say it was FABULOUS!!?
Today, I’m sharing a card that will let you know just how I feel about being a part of Stampin’ Up! and my team.
I’ve used Sheltering Tree and Suite Sayings.
I started with a Very Vanilla base and stamped the tree from Sheltering Tree in Early Espresso.
The colors are a reference to what’s going on outside my house right now. I enjoy this time of year and all of its color the way I enjoy Spring with all of the flowers!
For the Hills
I traced the edge of a couple different sized Layering Ovals onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 3″ x 4-1/4″. After cutting the pieces apart, I stamped each shaped piece with the top of tree image from Sheltering Tree.
I used Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Tangeringe Tango, Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler for my Fall palette. It reminds me of the mountains I’ve been driving through the last few weeks. Just bursting with color!
The bottom three shaped pieces were added using Dimensionals and the top couple of pieces are attached with Multipurpose Glue. Since I left a tiny space between the shaped pieces, I needed to go around the edges and just trim up anything that was hanging over.
For the sentiment, I masked off a stamp from Suite Sayings and inked the desired part with Versamark. Then, I stamped it on a 3-3/4″ x not quite 1″ piece of Vellum and heat embossed in Gold. The sentiment piece was finished with three large Basic Pearls.
