Hi! Welcome to my blog and thanks for stopping in. I’m Sara Levin the artful inker. Today, I’m participating in the Scrapbooking Global July 2018 Blog Hop. If you’re looking for scrapbooking inspiration, you’ve come to the right place! There are 30 of us including the Scrapbooking Global design team who are using the same theme. Let’s take a look at what I’ve created and then you should take the tour!
Scrapbooking Global July 2018 Blog Hop
For this month’s hop, our challenge is to use this sketch.
It’s a great, straight forward layout with loads of possibilities!
So, I thought you might like to see a progression for my page.
I find that taking photos as I create helps me to “see” things differently/more completely.
While this is not my first photo — I was too quick in deleting — this is my first,
“I think I’m on the right track” photo.
For this page, I accented with Copper Foil cut with
Chase Your Dreams and Stained Glass Thinlits.
And, I created a title that is a combination.
I printed part and then used the Make a Difference stamp set and
embossed in copper.
Basically, I was happy with the building blocks of
Share What You Love designer paper and Basic Black and Gray Granite cardstock.
By adding smaller Basic Black rectangles to the designer paper,
I was able to make the Copper Foil elements pop.
Next, I added a cover to my journaling square that I cut with an
Eastern Medallions thinlit.
The shape and lines of the thinlit tie in with the other die cut pieces.
In addition, I added black Metallics Sequins and a piece of the designer paper
that I fussy cut.
Scrapbooking Global July 2018 Blog Hop Final Layout
And for my finished layout, I tweaked one last thing.
In the upper left rectangle, I skewed the Basic Black mat and the Copper Foil “dream”.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my addition to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop
July 2018.

What a stylish and elegant page Sara – thanks so much for sharing your ‘process’. If I did that it would be a VERY long post indeed!!!
Thanks Jackie! We all have days when our process is longer than others 😉
Beautiful! I especially loved getting a peak at how your page progressed
Thank you Lisa and Michelle! So glad you stopped in and left me a comment to let me know you’d been here.
Great page Sara! Thanks for organizing the hop.
I love the different ways you created this layout! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks, Karie, for letting me know that my creative progression is helpful.
What a beautiful, serene layout. Love your use of copper makes it chique!
Thank you Monique! The Copper Foil seemed to me a “must” all the way through the design process.
I love the idea of hiding your journaling, as I am not always pleased with how mine looks.
Thanks Rachel! And, it becomes another way to add a pretty design element.
The black and gold make your layout so classy! Love it Sara – love seeing how it all came together
Thanks Eimear! I was trying to match the tone of the event.
Thank you Sara for another great example of how you create your layouts <3 I also do take photos of the progression of my layout because I believe that seeing it in a photo gives your just the correct amount of perception of how the completed layout will look. Thank you for your running of the Blog Hop and making sure that it all runs very smoothly <3 And being part of the Creative Design Team for Scrapbooking Global.
Cheers Shaz
