Hi! Welcome to my blog. I’m Sara Levin theartfulinker. Today is the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop November 2020. As always with our monthly hop, we’ve got lots of scrapbooking inspiration to share with you for using your Stampin’ Up! products.

Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop November 2020

The theme for the November scrapbook layouts is
shapes times 9.
That means that all of the pages we will share today will repeat a chosen shape 9 times in the layout.
Flowers for Every Season Scrapbook Page

My shape of choice, for this month’s theme, is a square. Or turned as it is, a diamond. I used three different sizes of the Stitched Shapes Dies square to cut the square for my layout.

First, I chose the Flowers for Every Season designer paper. After picking my first design — the Magenta Madness roses on Bumblebee — I picked some coordinating patterns for pattern mixing. Then, I played with the layout of the pieces.
Coordinating cardstock colors are Magenta Madness and Coastal Cabana. And for texture, I embossed the cardstock squares using the Wrapped in Texture and Greenery Embossing Folders.

To add some additional visual texture to the page, I used a Painted Poppies stamp inked in Coastal Cabana to add some splotches.

Confession time — I rarely use a ruler to line anything up. But with this page, there were too many straight lines not to. So, I’ve butted the first two squares up against one side of the ruler with one square raised on Dimensionals. Then, I placed a third square against the end of the ruler. And a fourth square against the opposite side of the ruler. That did a fantastic job of creating the spacing and alignment.
For some added texture, some of the squares are popped up on Dimensionals. And, the remainder are adhered with Multipurpose Glue.

Of course, the Playful Alphabet sentiment needed to be lined up as well. For this, I used my Grid Paper as well as my ruler. By arranging my 12″ x 12″ cardstock along vertical and horizontal lines, I assured that it was straight. Then, I placed my ruler so that it ran along a grid line as well. That way my letters would be straight and all I had to tinker with was spacing.
To finish, for the time being, I added a 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ square of Just Jade as the photo matte.

Thanks, Mai! I love the bright colors too. They really do say “happy”.
I love how you have created this page. I must confess I use a ruler to line up things unless there is a pattern on the paper which I can use
Thanks, inkycrafter! LOL — we’ve both told on ourselves.
Wow, the colours are amazing. And I love the way you’ve used the shapes challenge! Rulers are a very useful tool! Thankyou for the tips – your arrangement really is lovely!!

A beautiful page and layout Sara, I love all your embossing and the Painted Poppies stamp splatter! The angle of all the squares does create a lovely diamond effect!
Thank you, Sharni! It’s funny how different everything looks just by giving it a quarter turn.
