Hi! I’m Sara Levin theartfulinker an independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in the United States. Welcome to my blog! Today is the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop August 2021. The design team and our guests have lots of inspiration to share with you today for using Stampin’ Up! products for your scrapbook layouts!

Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop August 2021

The theme for the August 2021 hop is Let’s Strip. We’ll be using strips of designer paper or cardstock to create part of our layout design. You might call this a version of the Scrappy Strip Technique, which I LOVE! This technique is a great way to use those scraps/strips of cardstock and designer paper that we all amass as we create. And my little crafter’s heart is always happy to find a way to use them as I hate to waste them.
Delicate Dahlias Scrapbook Page

For my page, I used strips/scraps of 2021-23 In Color Designer Paper and Brights Designer Paper. With four different patterns and lots of colors to choose from, it was easy for me to mix and match my colored strips. And by laying them out at a jaunty angle, I added a little more interest to the page.
HERE are some other ways to use your scrappy strips

To accent the page border, I used a splatter stamp from Sweet Ice Cream in Daffodil Delight. With it I added some light, random visual texture.
Then, I used a couple of the stamps from Delicate Dahlias. It is a two step stamp set that is free with a qualifying purchase during Saleabration.
HERE is another example of how I have use the set
And when you watch the video below, I’ll share some tips for getting the most out of the Delicate Dahlias stamp set.

Next, I added some letters cut with the Playful Alphabet Dies and adhered to Foam Adhesive Sheet. This way, the letters were both raised and ready to be adhered once die cut. But before adding them to my page, I used Polished Pink Stampin’ Blends to create and ombre effect on the letters.
Tip: This is one of those instances where you will want to use a ruler to make sure things are level. The wonky strip background will play tricks with your sense of straight.

For my photo mat, I cut Thick Basic White with the largest Scalloped Contours Die. Then, I stamped the remainder of my title with a sentiment from Delicate Dahlias and cut it out with another of the Scalloped Contours Dies. HERE’s a Scalloped Contours Dies Chart.
