Hi!  Welcome to my blog.  I’m Sara Levin the artful inker.  Today, I want to say a heartfelt “thank you” to all of you who have left me supportive comments or messaged me in other ways to let me know that my family and I have been in your thoughts.  Thank you!  It was beyond lovely for you to do so.  In fact, my Rooted in Nature Splatter card was inspired by you!

 

Rooted in Nature Splatter

 

 

For my card, I used a Thick Whisper White base.

Then, I have a slightly smaller than usual Mint Macaron mat

followed by a Whisper White focal layer.

 

 

On the focal layer, I heat embossed the large leaf, from Rooted in Nature,

three times in silver.

Then, I used my Aqua Painter to dot in color: Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Tranquil Tide.

To do this, I added one color at a time and let it dry in between so that

there would be no mixing of color.

And where some dots were not dark enough, I was able to come back and add more to the dried dot.

This way, color intensifies rather than flows out to form a larger dot.

 

 

Once the leaves were finished, I used the Aqua Painter to add some light

splatter in Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron.

Next, I added loops of Silver Metallic Thread.

For the sentiment, I used a phrase from Rooted in Nature and stamped in

Mint Macaron on Mint Macaron.

And to finish, I added a “splatter” of Basic Pearls.
