Hi!  Welcome to my blog.  I’m Sara Levin the artful inker.  Fall is beginning to transform the trees along my street.  So when I saw the color combo, I knew I wanted to create with Rooted in Nature for GDP157.

 

 

 

The Rooted in Nature bundle was fun to play with all summer.

It is also versatile enough to make the transition to Fall, Winter and Spring.

This week, it’s a color challenge for Global Design Project.

For my card, I used a Thick Whisper White base.

Then, I added a tight mat of Whisper White.

Before adding the mat, I used a Sponge Dauber to

edge the mat with Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint.

 

 

On the Shimmery White focal layer, I painted a watercolor wash in

Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron.

After brushing on each color in a loose wash, I used my heat tool before moving

on to the next color.

This served two functions: keeping the colors from bleeding together; and, cutting down on warping.

 

 

For the leaves, I used Shimmery White cardstock and brushed on a

wash in Blackberry Bliss, Grapefruit Grove and Mint Macaron.

Once I had dried the wash, I stamped the larger leaf from Rooted in Nature

in Blackberry Bliss — stamping off first.

To cut the leaves, I used the Nature’s Roots Framelits.

 

 

Using a sentiment from Rooted in Nature, I masked it before stamping on Vellum.

Then, I heat embossed in gold.

 

 

To finish the card, I used a trio of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls in Grapefruit Grove.
