Pretty Pines White on White

Yesterday I spent a couple of hours with a friend I haven’t seen in a while.  She had moved to a new house and I have been a little busy lately.  I was excited to see how far they had come in their renovations of their home.  What they have done is just beautiful!  I also had time for a much needed haircut — thank goodness!  And the rest of the day was spent taking care of behind the scenes business details.  So that this morning, I was ready to jump right in to creating.

I’ve played with a lot of color the last couple of days and I guess my brain decided enough of that.

Today’s card is white on white.

I started with a base of Thick Whisper White cardstock.  Since the fold is at the top, this piece measures 4-1/4″ x 11″.

Over that is a piece of Whisper White cardstock that has been embossed with the Cable Knit folder.

Tip:  to use this dynamic embossing folder, use only one cutting plate and spritz your cardstock.  I prefer to use alcohol as it dries more quickly.  Lightly moistening the cardstock allows it to give a bit more and it needs to to accommodate the deeper texture of this folder.

The embossed layer was attached to the base with Multipurpose Glue.

Next, I cut pine boughs, berries and pine cones from Whisper White using the Pretty Pines Thinlits.

The pine boughs were arranged and then attached with Dimensionals.

Before attaching the berry clusters, I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen, like yesterday, to create raised dots.  While the dots were still wet, I sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds.

The pine cones are each two layers.  On the top layer of each pine cone, I traced the bottom half with the Fine Tip Glue Pen and then sprinkled the wet glue with Dazzling Diamonds.

The subtle bits of sparkle on this card are enough to take it from blah to elegant.

The berry stems and two of the pine cones were adhered with Multipurpose Glue.  And the remaining pine cone was attached with a Dimensional.
