A friend and I were talking last week and she mentioned that she needed some gold at the end of the rainbow themed treat holders for a challenge that she will be running in her office. As we talked, she also mentioned that she just didn’t have much time to devote to figuring out what she would make. We talked about possibilities and she finally said, “will you please come up with something for me?” Of course! So, I played around yesterday and ended up with something that’s even cuter than I had expected! (If I do say so myself 😉 )
Here’s my Pot of Gold
I started with some Basic Black cardstock and cut it with Deco Labels Framelits. Then, I added a small box to the inside.
The coins in my pot were punched from Gold Foil paper using 3/4″ and 1″ punches.
The rainbow was created using the marker to stamp technique.
Using Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point and Cucumber Crush, I inked the large brushstroke image in Work of Art.
(Yes, I know I didn’t follow ROY G BIV but, it’s art and I can do that.)
Here’s what my inked up stamp looked like. Give it a huff and you’re ready to stamp!
The rainbow was cut by hand.
After adhering all of the parts using Tear and Tape, I added a piece of Gold Bakers Twine. To keep it from moving around, I rolled a Glue Dot and placed it underneath the knot.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my Pot of Gold treat boxes.
Now, I need to fill and deliver them.
