Busy day yesterday! I was up and out the door early in order to set up for the IMA craft show at Easton High School. They do a wonderful job organizing, providing volunteers (the kids from the instrumental music program) to help with unloading, breaks, lunch, etc. And, their advertising leading up to the event was top notch. I enjoy doing shows — all the people you meet. This one however is near and dear as it helps to support the instrumental music program at the high school. You know it’s a good program when you have over 350 kids choose to participate in orchestra and band. Plus, their marching band was chosen to be the only high school performing at the Orange Bowl this coming year. They are beyond excited!
Now, today is #stampingsunday and I’m sure that you’d like to see what I have for you.
This was a totally different take for me on Postage Due. In the past my cards have leaned a little more towards vintage or grunge in the coloring. I was all about bright today. In fact that’s what I went to sleep thinking — “it’s got to be bright.” I started with the focal image and inked it in Versamark and Daffodil Delight, then heat embossed it in Clear. After cleaning the stamp, I inked it in Versamark again and stamped for the bicycle image. It was heat embossed with Wild Wasabi. A couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals were added to the bike and it was layered over the original bicycle image. Next, I dipped a very wet Aqua Painter into a pool of Tempting Turquoise ink and then splattered it across the card. Finally a piece of Retro Fresh washi tape was added to the focal image. It’s great how the arrows suggest movement. The focal image was layered over a piece of I Am Me designer series paper and then onto a Tempting Turquoise base.
After cutting out the bicycle, I used my stylus and my Stampin’ Pierce Mat. By using the stylus on the back side of the image, you can create a little dimension/shape. Using the Paper-Piercing Tool at each hub, holes were made so that 1/8″ Mini Brads could be inserted.
What did you make with Postage Due for #stampingsunday?
