Yesterday was a busy, exciting day for us. There was graduation rehearsal in the morning. While my daughter was there, I spent the time putting together a picnic dinner for after graduation. After picking her up, we spent a couple of hours with my family for lunch. We went a Korean restaurant the my daughter and I had recently tried. While the food wasn’t new to everybody, it was fun to watch everybody try some new things. I know we all found new dishes to love. Then, it was time to head off to graduation. And after the ceremony while everyone else was waiting in bumper to bumper traffic to leave, we pulled out our table, chairs and picnic and enjoyed a quiet hour or so with each other before taking a leisurely drive over to the hotel where family was staying. We’re not good at calling a visit done. It was almost midnight by the time we finished chatting and playing one of our favorite games – Bananagrams. I’m off to breakfast with them in just a few minutes — before really saying “goodbye”.
But first, my design team creation with Pop of Paradise for TSOT275.
I started with a standard 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Basic Black cardstock base that has been scored down the middle.
Then, I added a 3″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Pop of Pink designer series paper.
The Whisper White layer measures 2-1/4″ x 3-1/4″.
The flamingo was inked in Basic Black because just like the name of the designer paper, I wanted to use pops of pink.
Using Pop of Pink washi, I created the three banners to the left of the focal layer. Each piece is approximately 1″ long and folded in half. The banners are held in place by Dimensionals that are doing double duty. They also help to lift and adhere the focal layer.
The last detail is the scalloped edge to the right. It is cut from a piece of Melon Mambo using the Fiesta Time Framelits. For this card, I really like that it came out with the dotted texture. If I hadn’t wanted that, I could have simply run the cut piece back through the Big Shot with just cutting plates and the dots would have been smoothed out.
And that’s my card for TSOT275 using Pop of Paradise.
Now, I’m off to breakfast with my brother!
