I’m still running back and forth between my mom’s house and my home. And this past weekend, I was in Pittsburgh. It was nice to spend more time with my daughter than a quick meal. Mom is doing better but I’ll be off for another visit soon. Life has gotten a little in the way of my creative time. I apologize for the lower than usual volume of sharing. This past Sunday evening, I held a Pimp Your Planner class.
Pimp Your Planner
So many of us use planners that I thought it would be fun to bring our stamping right on over into our planners.
My current planner is on the smaller side – I’ve remedied that for next year!
I wanted more white space to work with.
I thought I’d share the last three weeks of October with you so that you can see what I’ve done and think about the possibilities for your own planner.
I used the Birch leaf from Vintage Leaves for this weekly layout.
And I used Vintage Leaves again
for another week’s layout. This time I used the Oak leaf.
And for the final week in the October calendar
I created a little scene using Spooky Fun and Halloween Scares.
The size of these stamps were perfect when adding multiple images!
I have a few tips if you’d like to try your hand at pimping your planner.
Planner Tips
Outline stamps or stamps without lots of detail are best if you are inking in darker colors.
Before you ink your image, test the block with the stamp attached to make sure the block isn’t going to be resting on the spiral when you go to stamp.
Remember this is not the fabulous Whisper White cardstock that we are used to and ink can bleed through — so, stamp off first. This way ink won’t show through the other side.
Choose ink colors over which your writing will show.
If you’re not sure about a color, test it on a piece of copy paper first. It’s about the same weight as most planner pages.
Once you’re ready to use your gussied up planner pages, designer washi makes a great accent for special activities!
Go to my store to check out all of the stamp, ink and washi possibilities for your planner.
Make sure that my name (Sara Levin) appears so that you will be shopping with me if you’re in the United States.
