I’ve been a busy little bee this morning. After playing around with the Picture Perfect stamp set to create today’s card, I realized I had a couple of tips to share with you. So, I went ahead and made a video. I was really on top of it as I had the video uploading as I headed off for my volunteer stint this morning. Now I’m back and ready to share.
As I mentioned, I used Picture Perfect for my card and I combined it with PPA287
The colors for this challenge were just perfect for the hummingbird!
I used a base of Very Vanilla cardstock and added two layers of designer paper from the Pretty Petals stack.
I tried something new with the Bakers Twine at the bottom. I wanted this accent but didn’t have or want a layer to wrap it around. So, I took a narrow strip of Very Vanilla cardstock and ran a length of Fast Fuse down it. Then, I added pieces of Old Olive Bakers Twine being sure to kind of match the color lines as I added each new piece.
Next, I came to the hummingbird from Picture Perfect. It is stamped in Lost Lagoon, Old Live and Calypso Coral. After stamping, I fussy cut the hummingbird. Before placing him onto the card with dimensionals, I added some Crystal Effects to the back of the beak. When dry, the Crystal Effects adds some strength to this very narrow piece of cardstock.
Here’s a video with some tips that are the result of my playing this morning.
And that’s it!

So sweet, Sara. The hummingbird looks amazing against this panel of paper – and I love the baker’s twine! Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.
How cute is that! Love that Hummingbird too. Thanks for playing with us at PPA this week, hope to see you again soon.
This is the prettiest coloring of the hummingbird I have seen. The result is soft and pleasing to the eye. Thanks for playing with the Pals this week.
Lovely card, Sara. I see you enjoy the hummingbirds also! Great tips in your video… you have it down to a science for matching up the various pieces. And I really like your use of the baker’s twine. Thanks so much for playing along with my color challenge at the PPA this week. Hope to see you often in our gallery!
