A little excitement in the house tonight! The prom dress we ordered arrived. And you know what? It was even better than we had hoped!! A couple of quick alterations, a great bracelet and some earrings and the girl here is ready. I’m thrilled for her and I’m thrilled to tick one more thing off the list. Plus, this was completely painless in terms of shopping.
Now, I’m sure you’d like to know what I’ve created. I used Party Wishes today and the card took an interesting turn when I combined GDP021 and PP280. You’ll see what I mean.
My Party Wishes card,
started with a Wisteria Wonder base. Did I mention the color combo is from the GDP021 challenge?
Then, I added a Cherry On Top designer paper banner topped with a punched strip of Melon Mambo and some Silver Sequin Trim to add a little bling. This little accent piece was attached with a couple silver mini staples.
Next, is the Whisper White focal layer.
I stamped the cake from Party Wishes in Wisteria Wonder.
Then using my aqua painter, I painted on dribbled streaks of Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay.
Tip: In order to get the streaked color dark enough, I applied some color and then dried it with my heat tool and then applied more. This kept the cardstock from warping or pilling.
I think the finished cake has the look of free form hand painted fondant.
Next, I used the Molten Embossing technique and for my silver splotches.
Here’s a quick “how to” video for this technique.
Using the the flower from the Itty Bitty Accents pack, I punched three Bermuda Bay flowers.
After shaping the flowers, I added Basic Rhinestones for their centers.
PP280 was a tic tac toe this week. I chose to combine purple, flowers and bling for my card.
My final accents were a small Silver Metallic Doily and a couple loops of Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine.
And that’s my Party Wishes card for GDP021 and PP280,
