I was at a wedding this weekend. As we got dressed to go home on Monday morning, we had the T.V. on in the hotel room. There was a piece on Good Morning America about the upcoming Oscars. I thought, “Quick, I need invitations for an impromptu Oscar Party”. You know, something fun but not over the top.
Well, I didn’t get to those on Monday due to travel. And yesterday I spent working on wedding invitations that are due to the bride and groom next Monday. But, this morning I hopped right on it.
I think you’ll like these simple invitations. You’ve still got time to make them and hand them out. Or, use them at your party for everyone to list their guesses for the different categories.
I went with the idea of the clapper board used for different scenes and takes in the movies.
My invitation is a pocket card. I created the idea of a hinge by inserting a 1/8″ brad in the top piece that lifts off the pocket base.
Using the striped mask, I daubed on Whisper White craft ink to create the diagonal stripes. Then, I used the mask as a guide for the lines that I drew on with my Chalk Marker. Use those lines for your guest’s names or the categories for their guesses.
Inside is a piece of Whisper White cardstock stamped with a star from Bright and Beautiful. It was inked in Smoky Slate so that it would give the idea of silver but easily be written over. To that, I’ve added a few Silver Glimmer Paper stars punched with the Confetti Stars punch.
I’m off now to spend a little more time on those wedding invitations.
