Welcome! Spring has sprung for this month’s One Stamp at a Time blog hop. Don’t forget to click “Next” at the bottom of this post to continue to Kelly’s blog.
Spring to me means flowers beginning to bloom and the return of our resident birds. So far, the crocus are up and the Robins and Morning Doves have made an appearance. I am a total flower girl and I want to start seeing some in March and keep seeing new things bloom into June. Knowing that, you won’t be surprised that my creations for today incorporate flowers.
First is a little repurposed – upcycled – gift box.
We finished up some Brie at my house this week. I always keep the little balsa wood containers. “They might come in handy”. Well, the timing on this box was just right! It makes a perfect little gift box.
I covered the top with some Birthday Bouquet designer paper.
And then, I added layers of flowers and leaves cut with the Botanical Builder Framelits. I used Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz cardstocks.
The stamens in the center flower were coated with Dazzling Diamonds. And all of the flowers were given a Basic Rhinestone for the center.
The side of the lid was covered with White Metallics Glitter Tape (a free Sale-A-Bration product). (I wish you could see how sparkly it is!). Then, I wrapped a length of Pool Party 3/8″ Glitter Ribbon around and finished with a knot style bow.
The side of the bottom of the box was covered with another pattern in the Birthday Bouquet designer paper. I decided to run the pattern vertically rather than in horizontal lines — I think it looks a bit more interesting this way.
Now that you’ve got your gift box, you need a card to go with it.
I created a coordinating love note size card.
This 3 x 3 card starts with a Whisper White base. Then, I added a layer of Birthday Bouquet designer paper that matches the paper on the gift box. Next, is a length of the same sparkly Pool Party ribbon and a matching knot bow. Using the Botanical Builder Framelits again, I cut three pairs of flowers and leaves. This time, the flowers are finished with It’s My Party Enamel Dots.

I just love your projects. I used a cheese container several years ago and made something like this. Thanks for the reminder and you used my fav paper in the Occasions catalog. I think I have one of those boxes here somewhere. I’m going to have to go and dig it out, either that or buy some cheese. LOL! Your card is cute too!
