OSAT BLOG HOP Oh My Pumpkins and Pie
So here’s a surprise – I went a little different route to create my pumpkin ( a little sarcasm here).
My card is Night of Navy with a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ layer that has been embossed with the Brick Wall folder. I used the debossed side and added it to the card base with Dimensionals.
Next, I added to Pool Party flourishes cut using the Flourish Thinlits. The Fine Tip Glue Pen was used to adhere the flourishes. Though, I did leave some pieces loose as that adds a little texture.
My pumpkin is made from two Watermelon Wonder In Color Doilies. The bottom doily was cut in half. Behind each half is a 1-3/4″ Circle Punch in Night of Navy. This keeps the flourish vines from showing through the doily’s piercing.
The top doily is sponged all around the edges with Watermelon Wonder to give the pumpkin some depth. This doily was placed on a 1-3/4″ Circle Punch in Watermelon Wonder and then added to the card using Dimensionals.
The stem is a hand cut piece of Gold Glimmer Paper.
The inside of the envelope was lined with a piece of Whisper White that has been stamped in Pool Party with the flourish from Flourishing Phrases.
On the inside, I added a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Whisper White. And to the lower right corner, I adhered a piece of the Pool Party flourish that was trimmed from the front.
Just in case my envelope wasn’t dressed up enough, I used the flourish from Flourishing Phrases and stamped it in Pool Party on the back flap. It’s a great detail!
Treat Bag
I love little treat or gift containers!
So, I decided to make one that coordinates with today’s card.
I started with a 3″ x 6″ Cellophane Bag and added a 3″ x 9-1/2″ piece of Floral Boutique designer paper. The designer paper is scored at 1″, 6″, and 8″. Score the cellophane bag 1″ from the bottom. Then use a little Fast Fuse to adhere the seam on the bottom to the bag. Reach inside and push the score line out and you will have created a flat bottomed bag. Now use the Fast Fuse again and adhere the 1-1/2″ section of the Floral Boutique paper to the front of the bag and the 2″ section to the bottom of the bag.
The top scoreline is simple folded over the top of the bag.
I’ve added a 2-1/2″ Circle Punch to a Watermelon Wonder In Color Doily.
Behind the doily is a Pool Party flourish cut with the Flourishing Thinlits.
A Gold Binder Clip was used to “seal” the bag and hold the doily piece on.
Tied to one piece of the binder clip is a length of Linen Thread and to finish a length of Gold Sequin Trim was tucked in.
This bag is all ready for a treat or special gift! Just add your choice to the pillow of Watermelon Wonder confetti in the bottom.
