Hi! Welcome to my blog. It’s been a busy creating day here so far today! This morning was spent facetiming with a demo friend while we both worked on the day’s creations. One of the things I love about being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is the friends I’ve made. That was a fun way to spend some time while I put together my Oh So Eclectic for TGIFC148 card.
Oh So Eclectic for TGIFC148
The challenge for this week is the masking technique.
I chose to do that with the beautiful Oh So Eclectic stamp set.
I used a piece of Thick Whisper White for my card base.
Over it, I added a piece of Whole Lot of Lovely designer paper.
Then, I got to stamping the focal layer.
There are two ways to cut these masks.
I used both.
For the mask in the upper right, I stamped the image on text weight paper
and cut it out by hand.
The remaining two masks I cut from text paper using the Eclectic Layers Thinlits.
Why do it both ways?
Because, even though the masks cut with the thinlits are a bit larger than the image
it’s easier for some shapes like the leaves.
But since the mask are larger, it can leave you with a gap.
Whereas, the mask I cut by hand it at just the size of the stamped image — so no gap.
I started my stamping with the center flower.
Then, I laid a mask over it and stamped the next two flowers.
To create the rest of the cluster, I continued masking and stamping.
The masking gives you the impression of depth/layering.
As you can see, it is a single layer image.
To finish the card, I added loops and a bow of Whisper White Baker’s Twine
and a few sequins.
Then, I stamped the corner of my envelope using the masking technique
so that it coordinates with my card.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Oh So Eclectic for TGIFC148 card.

Oh wow! I love all of the masking you have done on your card today Sara! I also love the fact that you used simply ink and paper (with those sequins and twine too of course). Such a great card, and the coordinating envelope is the perfect addition! Thanks so much for joining in with us this week over at TGIF Challenges.💖
Thank you Carolynn! Sometimes that’s the challenge itself (at least for me), to do more with less. Thanks for the fun challenge.
Beautiful card and perfect stamp set for masking! The soft colors are just lovely. Thanks for joining us at TGIF Challenges this week.
Thank you Tami! And thanks for the masking challenge — it’s been a while since I used that technique.
