The morning went by soo fast! My daughter and I decided to scoot out for a quick breakfast. When we returned home we checked the calendar and realized there were two graduation parties scheduled for this afternoon/evening. I needed to get to work! I had forgotten to make gift card holders!! All these kids are going to need things for their dorm rooms and I’ve decided that gift cards make the most sense. So after consulting with my daughter about colors, I set to work on this Number of Years Gift Card Holder.

Number of Years Gift Card Holder
This gift card holder was designed to match the hair of the girl who will receive it.
The colors are Elegant Eggplant and Melon Mambo.
Hair you say? Yes, this friend has an ombre “do” that goes from Melon Mambo at the crown to Elegant Eggplant at the tips.
I’ve cut the gift card holder from Elegant Eggplant using the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits. Then the score lines were burnished using my Bone Folder.
The inside of the holder is lined with a 2-3/4″ x 3-5/8″ piece of Whisper White.
For the design on the front, I used another 2-3/4″ x 3-5/8″ piece of Whisper White.
First, I added the diagonal line image from Gorgeous Grunge in Elegant Eggplant. Then, I randomly stamped the fine splatter from Gorgeous Grunge in Melon Mambo.
Next, I stamped the “2016” from Number of Years in Melon Mambo on Whisper White. The numbers were then cut out using the Large Number Framelits and adhered to the design layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I ran a line of Fast Fuse down the center of the front of the gift card holder and attached a piece of Melon Mambo Thick Bakers Twine (the twine along the back was left loose). After looping the twine at the top of the gift card holder, I slipped in a length of Gold Sequin Trim before finishing the bow.
Finally, the focal piece was adhered to the gift card holder using Dimensionals. Be sure to space them so that they will not be on top of the Thick Bakers Twine (otherwise, you’ll have a little hump).
