This afternoon I’m having my first Christmas Card class of the year. For the first two or three of these classes that I offer, I create cards that are easy to duplicate. This is “idea time” for those who come so that they can know what they want to make for this year’s holiday card.
Today, we’ll concentrate on two stamp sets: Festival of Trees and Wondrous Wreath. I loved these sets last year and I think there’s still plenty of new ideas for using them this year. For my class, I’ve created one more traditional card and one less traditional card for each of the two stamp sets. It’s a fun way to get the wheels turning. And remember, they’re meant to be duplicatable en mass.
Here’s my non-traditional Festival of Trees card.
I love Blackberry Bliss! and decided it was the perfect color for my non-traditional card.
I created the background layer by randomly stamping a star inked in Blackberry Bliss. This layer sits on a base of Blackberry Bliss cardstock.
The three trees are also inked in Blackberry Bliss. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate having the coordinating Tree punch. Talk about speeding up the process!
Next, I added a Silver Glimmer Paper banner – a little sparkle is always welcome at the holidays. Over that is a Very Vanilla circle that has been embossed with the Lucky Stars embossing folder.
And then of course the trees – Festival of Trees!
