I think of Tuesdays as D squared. You know – Deals and Digital Downloads. I guess looking at that in print it’s really D cubed. After you look at today’s new Ds, keep reading down the page and check out the Making a Point creation and the product we’ll be using for this week’s #stampingsunday.
Here are this week’s deals. Click on the photo below to get product details and be taken to my store. These deals are available May 13 – 19, 2014 while supplies last.
and here are…
This week’s brand new digital downloads. Don’t think of the digital products as living on your computer only. They’re great for gift giving and hybrid projects, not to mention using them with your e-cutter. Have you started on your end of year teacher gifts? Why not make them with help from My Digital Studio. For more information about these and other downloads, click the photo below.
Now on to some creativity. When my daughter and I saw the Occasions Catalog, both of us thought this was a must have set. Feminine images that are current in design. There are a few Sweet 16 parties coming up and of course graduation. I can see this set working for both of those ideas. Not to mention being perfect for Mary Kay, Arbonne or Lemongrass Spa, etc. reps.
I had a load of fun with this lipstick image. It comes with a sentiment but, I chose not to ink it. I stamped it in the Memento ink, that will be available in the new Annual Catalog, as I wanted to play with the Blendabilities a bit. They were used for the lipstick itself. Perfect for the shading and highlights I wanted.
Next, I pulled out an Aqua Painter and brushed on some Versamark ink refill where I wanted my glitter, being careful to not cover the detail lines in the image. Over the Versamark, I sprinkled Heat and Stick and Silver Stampin’ Glitter. It makes for a nice shimmery, girly lipstick case.
After adding a tiny piece of Gingham Garden washi tape to accent the lipstick case, I die the cut image with the Ovals framelits. Using an Ovals framelits two sizes larger, a piece of Silver Glimmer paper was cut to create a mat for the focal image. These two pieces were added to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The final details for this card were more washi tape and rhinestones. I laid down two strips of Gingham Garden washi tape on a piece of Whisper White cardstock to create the center stripe. The Whisper White cardstock allows the washi tape to pop rather than blend. This was must as there are a lot of silver and gray tones.
Tip: When creating a washi stripe like the one above, check to make sure that you’re matching the pattern where the pieces of washi meet. You may have a little waste to make this happen but, visually you’ll be much happier.
As of yesterday, all of the retiring products on this creation are still available. I’ll post an update to that list (under the On Sale tab in the menu bar above) tomorrow.
I’m beginning to process the new 2014-2015 catalogs this week, if you haven’t requested your copy yet, it’s not too late.
And one last detail before I go for today. This week’s #stampinsunday will feature Pop n’ Cuts. Use it with your favorite insert or all by itself and then share your creation on Sunday, May 18 and include the hashtag #stampingsunday in your description.
