Today among other things, was my monthly Paper Pumpkin play date. Aside from getting together with this group of crafters so that we can assemble our kits, it’s always a fun afternoon of socializing. This was the perfect way to end a very busy weekend — relaxing with friends and being creative. I always have a few alternate ideas to share for using the kit contents. We all like to see how else something can be used.
So for April’s kit, it’s time to share an alternate idea for a card that can be created using products from the kit. It’s fun sometimes to follow the directions in the kit and sometimes we want to change things up. We’re crafty, creative people — we can do this!
I stamped “Love” over my Pacific Point layer to create a background design. Then added the sentiment in Pacific Point to a circle for my focal image. The banners are pieces from one of the cards in this month’s kit. I love when we receive printed card bases as they are printed on the front and back of the card. I often cut them apart so that I have twice as much printed cardstock to use on the front of my creations.
When I started, I had planned for the “Love” background to be on the card base. But as I was putting the card together, this just looked too flat/blah. Simply by making it a layer with a small border, it really perked this card up without taking it from simple to elaborate. Gotta love Stampin’ Dimensionals! And, a simple masculine card!
