I love Stampin’ Up!’s Lighthearted Leaves. It’s a beautiful, fun set. So when I found out that a friend I will see this evening has a birthday today, I pulled it out to make a quick card. As I’m between activities, the last band competition for the season is tonight, this will be almost as quick as the card was to make.
I started with a piece of water color paper
and an aqua painter. Making sure the tip of the aqua painter was very wet, I swiped it through some Tangelo Twist ink and loosely moved it down a portion of the water color paper. Next to the Tangelo Twist, I repeated the same process with Hello Honey. Then, I took the very wet brush and dropped in bits of Mossy Meadow. After letting it sit in place for a couple of moments, I turned and tilted the water color paper to move my puddles of Mossy Meadow. I like the way it created some extra texture by creating some depth in spots.
Next, I rubbed the entire piece of watercolor paper with my embossing buddy before stamping the maple leaf in Versamark ink. Both the leaf and the “happy birthday” sentiment were heat embossed in gold.
Before adding the panel to the Mossy Meadow cardstock base, I added a narrow strip of Gold Glimmer Paper.
