Hi there! I spent the morning working on orchestra uniforms and getting them out for dry cleaning. Since it was “chocolate day” I was also able to catch up with two of my friends – Jill and Robin. It’s always a treat to see them! And before I left to come home, I did a little organizing and a little something stupid. Just so that you don’t have to try this to find out here’s my tip – plastic fan blades will cut! I wasn’t paying attention when I picked up a fan in the uniform room and accidentally stuck my finger through the cover — and removed it very quickly!! Nothing to see here folks but stupid. I should have said it was a paper cut! Let’s check out this cute Lift Me Up for TGIFC89 card I have for you today.

Lift Me Up for TGIFC89
My creative mojo was feeling a little sluggish so I turned to a sketch challenge.
I’ve combined Lift Me Up with TGIFC89.
This sketch challenge was really a color challenge to use Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach. That was right up my alley after my color combo yesterday!
I started with a Pool Party cardstock base and layered with a piece of Whisper White that has only a 1/8″ border.
For my background I used an “E” Block and scribbled on it with a Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker. I gave it a light spritz with water before stamping with the block. This softens the scribble — a little or a lot depending on the amount of water you spritz on.
I stamped the large and small balloons from Lift Me Up in both Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo on Whisper White cardstock. Then, they were cut out using the Up & Away Thinlits.
Also in the Up & Away Thinlits is a cloud die. I used this to cut a piece of Vellum. Using Clear Wink of Stella I generously painted over the Vellum cloud before adding a Basic Rhinestone. It’s got nice sheer, subtle shimmer that doesn’t take away from the translucency of the cloud.
I glued down two of the balloons and then adhered the remaining balloons and the card front with Dimensionals.
Then, I used my Fine Tip Glue Pen to add some Peekabook Peach sequins from the Sprinkles Embellishments and Silver Sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment.
Finally, I turned to the inside and stamped three of the small hot air balloons to give the card a finished feeling.
