I enjoyed a lazy day yesterday. The teenagers spent the morning at the beach and pool. And, the adults spent the time gabbing and catching up. We hung out in our pajamas until about 2pm. When the kids came in, we all dressed and went to a late lunch. Which was followed by some shopping. No surprise that this was enjoyed by all.
Since I’m up ahead of the rest of the group, I thought I would go ahead and post today’s creation.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am in love with combining watercoloring with stamping. Today, I’ve used By The Tide in honor of my trip to the beach. I started with a piece of Watercolor Paper and inked the coral in the middle with Versmark and Tangerine Tango. The coral was then heat embossed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss powder. Using an Aqua Painter and Lost Lagoon ink pad, I painted around the coral. Next I added a second coral – no embossing this time. Then two fish inked in Island Indigo and the script image in Wild Wasabi.
Next using the Aqua Painter, I painted water across all of the images in the places that I wanted them to bleed slightly. This step gives the final project the softened watercolor look.
The final step was to add the Watercolor Paper to a card base of Wild Wasabi. I chose to use Sticky Strip as the Watercolor Paper is heavier. I felt it needed a little more umph from an adhesive.
