Providing treats for the section of the band that my daughter is in has become our tradition. So before we dropped her off at school the first part of this week, she made up a batch of our version of White Trash (recipe below). It was a last minute thought with all of the packing going on so, it was a good thing that I keep treat bags on hand. While she was making the treat, I was thinking about the tag to go on it. We like to change up the tag from one time to the next. Here’s what we did for the band camp treat:
These are just a few of the almost 30 bags.
The 3″ x 6″ Gusseted Cellophane Bags were the perfect size to hold a serving.
I closed them with some twist ties that I had on hand and added the tag.
The tags are made from 1-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ pieces of Whisper White cardstock.
I stamped three background circles from Layered Letters in Crushed Curry.
Then, I added the “H”and “P” in Night of Navy. Since there are no numbers in this set, my daughter wrote in the “2” with a Night of Navy Stampin’ Write marker
The banner end was cut by hand.
Tip: Cut up the center to create the height of the “v”. Then cut in from either side to the center to get fairly even angles on the banner.
H2P means Hail to Pitt
They will have received their treats on the bus today.
The taste tester said this batch was good 🙂
Remember — treats aren’t just for the little kids!

White Trash:
- 3-1/2 C Cheerios
- 3 C Rice Chex
- 3 C Corn Chex
- 20 oz lightly salted peanuts
- 12 oz dried cranberries
- 22 oz white choclate
Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Melt white chocolate in a double boiler or the microwave – be careful not to overheat. Mix white chocolate into small batches and spread mixture on a covered cookie sheet to set up (I prefer a silpat mat but foil or wax paper will work). Store in an air tight container. Servings: 25
We used candy melts for this batch so that it could be yellow with blue drizzle.
