If you’ve been following along this week, I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’ve been on a little shaker card binge. Today is no different. I had a friend contact me and ask if I would make a 21st birthday card for her niece who is also a cheerleader and school colors are red and white. I have to say, I was initially stumped. But, along came my shaker card binge and the idea practically leaped into my head. Since I’ve gotten approval for the card and it’s on its way, I can now share it with you.
Using the Large Numbers Framelits,
I created this tone on tone background in Real Red.
After placing my numbers around, I thought I needed to fill some areas that felt a little empty to me.
So, I pulled out the Stars Framelits and used the smallest one to cut a star for each corner area.
This technique is kind of fun because it’s almost like creating a custom embossing folder.
For my focal image shaker,
I used the Stars Framelits to cut both the base Whisper White layer and the frame for the shaker window.
The “21” in the middle of the shaker is from the File Tab Edgelits. These numbers were the perfect size!
My shaker bits are Silver sequins from the Silver Sequin Trim, White and Silver stars from the Metallics Sequin Assortment and 1/4″ punches of Red Glimmer Paper.
That’s it for my Large Numbers shaker card.
