As my daughter worked on homework last night, I decided to play/create. In my surfing yesterday I saw part of a landscape with colors similar to those I used. I thought it would be fun to pull out my Kinda Eclectic stamps and some inks and see what I might create.
I started with Whisper White cardstock and created a mask with a 1 3/4″ circle opening. Through this opening, I used a sponge dauber and added Tempting Turquoise ink. After the shading was to my liking, I removed the larger mask and placed the punched circle over the Tempting Turquoise circle.
Next, I used Stamping Sponges to add Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey making sure to leave some texture rather than trying for smooth color. After these colors were down, I pulled out my Coastal Cabana Blendabilities and added a little blue in the lower left. Using a White Gel Pen, I added faint texture lines across this blue section. A Gold Stampin’ Dazzle marker was used to add random dots in the upper left and lower right.
Pulling out the ray image in Kinda Eclectic, I masked off part of the image. Then inked and stamped just the rays with Memento Ink.
Finally, I added strips of Vellum cardstock and Gold Foil Sheet to the left of the image before mounting it on a Mossy Meadow cardstock base.
It was fun to play. If I had to guess, I’d say that I had more fun doing my homework than my daughter did with hers.
