My June Paper Pumpkin arrived and I finally had time to play with it. This is/was a great kit! And, I’m happy to say that it’s available to purchase under Past Kits in my store. Well, it’s available for purchase if you’re a subscriber – this and several other kits and refills. Let me show you what I received.
The kit came with two styles of card bases to make a total of eight cards. Then there were the: layer pieces; sheets of die cut stickers; die cut balsa embellishments; additional die cut design pieces; envelopes; envelope liners; buttons; thick bakers twine; glue dots; dimensionals; and the exclusive stamp set and ink spot.
I had some fun playing!
The first card I made was the banner shaped card.
Now as I created this, I thought I was following directions (but I wasn’t). Above is the spacing trick that jumped into my head while I wasn’t following the directions.
I gently popped out the balsa pennants before starting the card since I knew I was going to need them. As you can see above, I used the negative piece that was left to space the die cut sticker and balsa pennants. Worked like a champ!!
But, that’s where I didn’t follow directions. I forgot about the banner shaped layer piece and didn’t use it.
This is my finished card and the lined envelope. Nice huh? Without the banner shaped piece, this is a one layer card. Never fear, that banner shaped piece will get used for something. Nothing goes to waste in these kits!
There is one banner piece that you can choose to fill from your cardstock stash. I found two punches that will make the same size and shape as the other banners. One is the retired Pennant Builder punch on the left and the other is the Tree punch.
Since by the time I got to the stamping, I realized I had not followed directions, I went ahead and swerved again. I was delighted to find that the star stamp in the exclusive stamp set fits perfectly around the largest balsa star. (It also frames the star in the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack — just sayin’).
Be sure to check back the next couple of days as I’ll have some additional samples and alternative projects for this kit.
